Wild Ones, Native plants/Natural Landscapes is a not-for-profit environmental and advocacy organization that promotes the use of native plants in private gardens and public landscapes.
When you join, you become a member of our Lexington chapter and simultaneously of Wild Ones National.
At the local level, our chapter organizes regular meetings and other events for networking and learning. We publish a monthly e-Newsletter from March to November. We also make available resources for ecological landscaping. Much of this is available on this website. We actively net-work with other environmental organizations in Lexington and the Bluegrass area.
The National Organization maintains our local membership list, provides insurance for our local events, upholds our tax-exempt status and provides access to natural landscaping information through its website. It publishes an informative e-magazine, holds an annual conference in August, and offers the “Seeds for Education Grant” which funds educational projects nation-wide using native plants. Wild Ones, Native Plants/Natural Landscapes has over 50 chapters, mostly in the American midwest, and some in states near Kentucky.
