Wild Ones, Native Plants/Natural Landscapes is a not-for-profit environmental advocacy organization that promotes the use of native plants in private gardens and public landscapes.
When you join, you become a member of our Lexington chapter and simultaneously of Wild Ones National.
At the local level, our chapter organizes regular meetings and other events for networking and learning. We also make available resources for ecological landscaping many of which can be found on this website. We actively network with other environmental organizations in Lexington and the Bluegrass area.
The National Organization maintains our local membership list, provides insurance for our local events, upholds our tax-exempt status and provides access to natural landscaping information through its website. It publishes an informative e-magazine, holds an annual conference in August, and offers the “Seeds for Education Grant” which funds educational projects nation-wide using native plants. Wild Ones, Native Plants/Natural Landscapes has over 50 chapters, mostly in the American midwest, and some in states near Kentucky.
