Wild Ones, Native Plants/Natural Landscapes is a not-for-profit environmental advocacy organization that promotes the use of native plants in private gardens and public landscapes.

You can join or renew your membership here.

When you join, you become a member of our Lexington chapter and simultaneously of Wild Ones National.

At the local level, our chapter holds monthly meetings for networking and learning. We also organize garden visits, hikes and other excursions. We make available resources for ecological landscaping many of which can be found on this website. We actively network with other environmental organizations in Lexington and the Bluegrass area.

We invite our Lexington chapter members to an annual membership meeting in conjunction with a potluck party. We offer grants for which our members can apply to establish new gardens in Lexington or central Kentucky.

The National Organization maintains our local membership list, provides insurance for our local events, upholds our tax-exempt status and provides access to natural landscaping information through its website. It publishes an informative e-magazine, holds an annual conference in August, and offers the “Seeds for Education Grant” which funds educational projects nation-wide using native plants. Wild Ones, Native Plants/Natural Landscapes has over 50 chapters, mostly in the American midwest, and some in states near Kentucky.
