The Arboretum, State Botanical Garden of Kentucky

A 100-acre public garden located on the campus of the University of Kentucky, the Arboretum showcases Kentucky landscapes and serve as a resource center for environmental and horticultural education, research and conservation.

The Fayette County Extension Office Horticulture Program

Provides educational training and technical assistance to the community. Training includes The Master Gardener program and classes on gardening, The Gardener’s Toolbox classes. Technical services include soil testing, disease diagnosis, and plant, weed, and insect identification.

New Directions in the American Landscape (NDAL)

An educational organization and consultancy that offers programming, curriculum development, educator training, and community engagement events that integrate ecology & land stewardship, culture, history, art & design, and place-based learning into landscape practice and gardening. Founded in 1990 by Landscape Designer Larry Weaner, NDAL seeks to empower land care professionals, home gardeners, schools, nonprofits, and communities to connect more deeply with both their local eco-cultural environments and the broader natural world.
